And interesting brew. More hops than I would think for a Dubbel, but a very good brew. Not overly malty. A bit sour, so like most of the Trappist style you should let it warm up a bit and.breathe.
Never been disappointed with any chimay offering. Beautiful color in this beer. Awesome head. Always a favorite. Highly recommended.
Thick and creamy for a Belgian. It's strong and full of flavor, so be careful...
I love a great Belgian Dubbel and this is one of them.
A birthday present. Copper color with creamy head. Smooth and fruity. A good finish.
Excellent Brune, as expected ! Chimay !!!
Ummmm, good but not worth the $$$. If I ever pay this much coin for a beer It better call Russian River to see how to taste and act!
Need to age for2 years to get the best taste
One of the best tasting beers I've had to date.
Hands down the best beer I've tasted. Amber, good head, brief aftertaste.
It's a very nice beer
I like it.
Excellent but pricey!!!!
Just OK but will have to try at room temp next time.
This ale is now one of my favorite. A little pricey, but well worth it for the quality. Smooth, tasty, and it hides the 7% abv like it was its job, haha. I'm looking out for the other ones by Chimay now.
taste like gods vagina
ABV - 7.0%. 11.2oz. bottle poured into a goblet. Pours a cloudy, opaque iced tea color with just the faintest golden highlights. Minimal head, modest retention, leggy lacing. Very nice, complex nose - apricots, raisins, figs and bits of banana and toffee. The expected Chimay taste of bananas, cloves and bready caramel with a crisp, slightly peppery, finish. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel. The only thing wrong with the Chimay line here in the US is the cost. Smaller bottle, higher price. I only hope the good monks at Scourmont Abbey are getting their fair share. I also hope God will forgive my sarcasm.
excellent mainstream example of a Belgian beer
Finally broke down & bought one of these bad boys. Totally worth the money to support the monks for this badass beer. Dark brown color with a creamy head. Carmel is the dominant flavor with clove & what can only be described as Belgium. So good yo mamma would slap you for one. If you've been on the fence about it; jump down and get this in yo face.
