Found this at an ABC in Orlando. More gimmick than great (blood red and 6.66% ABV), but still pretty good and interesting.
I really did not like this one. The red color initially threw me off because I didn't taste any red fruit flavors. Strange aspartame taste in the back of my mouth that lingers. Reminded me too much of a bud platinum but with better quality ingredients.
Very interesting! The name suits it well, perfect Halloween beer that looks like blood! There's a very intense lineup of flavors, a little too much for me to distinguish, they all seemed to blend together, fairly hoppy!
Too much going on for me to enjoy.
Red as blood. Kind of reminds me of cherry NyQuil.
Well, IT IS BLOOD RED! That in itself scores some cool points. The label is also pretty fun, perfect for Halloween! The taste? Not terrible, hoppy and fairly light, a very subtle aftertaste. I wonder if it is making my tongue red...?
would have been better if it had more of a body.
2011 beer list
This is definitely one of the more interesting beers I have had. It reminds me of a lambic style beer but is less sweet and more bitter like beer. It is very good, very drinkable and very smooth. I recommend this one for someone who is still unsure about drinking a traditional beer.
rich dense body for october beer. hints of sweet carmel and malt with an excellent hoppy bite on finish. nice beer!
Okay, I know they were kinda playing with the Okto style, but CANDY APPLE RED? WTF? And it was far too hoppy for an Oktoberfest. I would have rated this lower, but it is quite possible that the skanky taste was due to the bottle being old and the beer somewhat oxidized, so benefit of the doubt for that.
FIRST - he's JEWISH, THIS IS NOT AN OKTOBERFEST! Think about it . . . 11/10 - bought this for the clown face on the carton. LOVED this beer, BLOOD red. Fast dissipating head but well carbonated. I can't pinpoint what's going on in the taste, more then malts! The schtick on this beer puts it over the top!
