American Wheat or Rye Beer
About American Wheat or Rye Beer
American Wheat and Rye beers tend to be pale yellow to gold in color. True to their name, these hybrids should have a noticeably grainy character in both aroma and flavor. Their aromas are often slightly sweet, with malty undertones and some floral or spicy hopiness. Along with grainy flavors of wheat and rye, beers of this style taste moderately sweet with a slight bitterness through the finish. These hybrids are medium-bodied, highly carbonated and quite dry.
