Alaskan Winter Ale August 4, 2011
Overall Rating

A good winter Ale that everyone should at least try as the flavor is unique. The spruce tips can be a little overpowering though.

Alaskan Summer Ale August 12, 2011

A good dependable "stand around the bbq beer, but definitely doesn't stand out among the competition. It's good, but pretty average. It doesn't stand out in any particular way.

Bud Light Lime August 4, 2011
Overall Rating

Add lime to anything and it'll taste better. Unfortunately it'll take about a dozen *fresh* limes to cover the urine-like flavor of this poor excuse for a "beer". Pathetic.

Samuel Adams Winter Lager January 17, 2012

I don't typically like lagers. As a general rule if almost go so far as to say I flat out don't care for then at all (with few exceptions). This was surprisingly good and refreshing however. It had a nice smooth mouthfeel and the spices are a fantastic compliment. I really enjoyed it and could easily see myself having one again.

Acceptable introductory flavors of malts ave some spices, but in general it really just tastes watered down and weak. This certainly has potential and isn't bad in any categorical sense, but most definitely lacks individuality and character. I can only conclude the hype is from those who have yet to discover REAL microbrews and are still slaves to meager grocery store selections. I won't be buying again...

Boulevard Dark Truth Stout January 7, 2012

Great dark color and intense aroma. Very dark and thick head. This has a very heavy intense smokey flavor that might not be everybody's cup of tea, but it sure hit the spot for me! Great roasted flavors and the smokey notes compliment it beautifully. This really is a fantastic stout that I intend to enjoy many more times.

Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale September 22, 2011
Overall Rating

Very smooth with nice blend of hops and malt. Beautiful copper color with white head. This is fairly mild and easy to drink. It has a nice finish with the perfect amount of bitterness. It definitely seemed like a tame version of Twilight Ale. This is definitely a benchmark pale ale in my book.

Deschutes Obsidian Stout September 28, 2011

Coffee black with dark head. Nice roasted coffee type flavors with bitterness that seems different than from hops. Smooth finish and easy to drink. One if the best "standard" (not a milk, coconut, oatmeal, etc) stouts I've tried.

Deschutes Brewery Jubelale November 7, 2011
Overall Rating

This is an excellent winter beer. Dark brown pour with caramel brown thick head. Introduction of spices and complex maltiness that have a roasted flair. And of course there are some of Deschutes' famous hops, only fairly subtle here. It almost feels like it warms up a bit on the way down. This is a very drinkable beer that I'll enjoy many more times this year!

Amazing roasted chocolate and coffee notes on an incredibly drinkable DARK beer. Having not had many porters yet, I was BEYOND impressed! Absolutely awesome beer.

Deschutes Inversion IPA August 21, 2011

Great all-around IPA. There's a well-balanced hoppy kick and pleasant citrus flavors. The grapefruit aroma is subtle and the flavor is fantastic. This is one of my top 5 favorite IPA's hands-down.

Deschutes Twilight Summer Ale September 8, 2011
Overall Rating

This is easily my absolute favorite summer ale. I have yet to try anything from Deschutes that doesn't impress me - and then some. Twilight Ale is certainly no exception. It has awesome flavors that are wonderfully balanced courtesy of the mixture of hops, but with pleasant malty tones as well. It is incredibly drinkable with a fairly low ABV that makes that second bottle that much easier to look forward to. It has no overly-bitter aftertaste after the bottle is empty either. I can't speak highly enough if Twilight Ale!

Deschutes Hop Trip October 9, 2011
Overall Rating

2011 Hop Trip. Deep red gold color with large creamy head. Beautiful citrus and floral aromas and fantastic clean citrus taste. I expected typical hoppy carbonation but found it to be range in that regard. Basically, add some carbonated bite and I'd think it was an IPA. This is a great seasonal ale that i thoroughly enjoyed, but would probably enjoy somewhat sparingly as i personally like that hoppy carbonated bite.

Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale January 17, 2012
Overall Rating

This is an amazing winter beer that I've been eagerly anticipating since last season when I first discovered it. It has a beautiful dark amber color and very fragrant aromas. Fantastic smooth citrus flavors with little discernable bitterness. 60 IBU's? Could have fooled me! The malts really round this out and give a nice unique backbone that is spot-on. This is refreshing and perfect for a cold winter day. I can't speak more highly of it.

Deschutes The Stoic December 29, 2011

Dark honey color with minimal head. Rich aroma with fruit and rye notes evident. Very interesting and complex with sweet - almost mild sour - flavors. I tasted hints of apricot and sweet fruity flavors that make it have almost a wine type of flair. It is very flavorful and complex, but very unique. Certainly worth the experience but not an everyday drink.

First off, I am a beer snob through and through. I live for an amazing micro brew. That said, this is the most amazing beer I have ever had. Literally. You can taste the wood from the casks, caramel, molasses, and vanilla. It's VERY dark, and even has hints of whiskey in it. The ABV and the general mouthfeel of it translates into something you definitely don't chug, but SAVOR! And boy is it worth savoring! What an incredible beer! You can feel the warmth as it goes down... Absolutely incredible fall/winter beer! Words are somewhat inadequate... wow...

Dogfish Head Burton Baton December 20, 2011

Unbelievable flavor, unbelievable mouthfeel, unbelievable finish. This tastes like 90-Minute IPA, but smoother and without as much of a hop kick. It's incredibly complex and flavorful and VERY drinkable. It's expensive, but worth it!

Dogfish Head World Wide Stout November 25, 2011

This stout is hands-down the most amazing stout I've ever consumed. Ever. Dark rich black color with mind-boggling flavor. The roasted barley malts are astounding and rich flavors beyond that of wooden barrels and almost a whiskey or Bourbon greet you afterward. At $10 for a 12oz bottle its by no means cheap or affordable, but the flavor is literally unreal.. .

Dogfish Head Punkin Ale October 6, 2011
Overall Rating

Nice pumpkin orange-ish color with subtle pumpkin flavor. Really, the brown sugar and some mild spices make the biggest appearance. It is easily drinkable, has excellent mouthfeel, and a very clean finish. In a world where it send pumpkin ales either flat out suck, or taste great (no middle ground), Punkin Ale is fantastic. It's a fantastic autumn beer!
