Welcome to the Granite State’s leading craft brewery, located in the historic seaport city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Smuttynose was founded in 1994 by the folks who started the Northampton and Portsmouth Breweries. At Smuttynose, we pride ourselves on making a wide variety of distinctive beers, from our five full-time beers, to our seasonals and our famous Big Beer Series.

Vegetarians, please take note: Smuttynose beers are made without the use of any animal products, such as isinglass or gelatin. Why? Because we prefer it that way, and we're sure you do, too, so enjoy!
