Gueze is almost always gold in color. Ales of this kind have aromas similar to lambics, which may best be described as earthy and horsey, although some variations may have fruity notes of apples and honey. They are sour in flavor, although sourness should be balanced pleasantly in a malty body. Light fruitiness is common and flavors of oak and cork may sometimes be noticeable. Beers of this kind are light in body and tart in finish.
